WHO WE ARE

Welcome to The Arenal Sloth Hostel, where our establishment is not just a place to stay but a testament to a heartfelt journey that began in March 2022. One of our current owners, Bernal, purchased the hostel with a friend, setting the stage for an unexpected turn of events. Tragically, just over a year later, Bernal's dear friend and the beloved father of two boys unexpectedly passed away, casting a shadow of grief over our venture.

In the face of adversity, Bernal's sister, Jiseña, courageously stepped up to the plate. Now, as the second partner of The Arenal Sloth Hostel, she played a pivotal role in shaping what has become a local Costa Rican family business filled with heart and dedication.

Fast forward to June 2023, when our family gathered to officially open the doors of the rejuvenated Arenal Sloth Hostel. Jimena, our niece and a recent high school graduate, took on the role of administrator, infusing the establishment with youthful energy and a fresh perspective. Jimena's rapid ascent in the world of tourism has led her to now fully manage our Hostel. Hailing from Costa Rica, our entire family is committed to ensuring your stay is not only memorable but that you feel truly comfortable and secure in our hospitality.
